In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Blenkiron of Reeth in the Parish of Grinton Farmer and Mining Agent being of sound mind and memory do this thirty first day of May One thousand eight hundred and forty seven, make and publish this my last Will and Testament following. First I desire that my four sons Joseph Blenkiron, John Blenkiron, Thomas Blenkiron and William Blenkiron be my Executors, administrators and assigns. And unto them I bequeath, all my property, goods and chattels, of whatsoever description they may be to be equally divided amongst them and my Wife Ann Blenkiron after my decease, upon a valuation having been put opon them. Also I bequeath unto my daughter Jane Metcalfe the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to her twelve months after the day of my decease. And I also bequeath unto my two Grand daughters Ann Spence and Elizabeth Spence ten pounds each to be put into the hands of my son John Blenkiron and to be paid unto them when they attain the age of twenty one years each or when they are married as the executors may think fit. Also I request that all those four cottages, gardens, stables and outbuildings like the property of my brother James Blenkiron but now belonging to me Thos Blenkiron to be sold. And my Wife Ann Blenkiron tohave the interest of the money for her life or as long as she remains my Widow and at her decease to be equally divided between my four sons Joseph Blenkiron, John Blenkiron, Thomas Blenkiron and William Blenkiron. And I also bequeath unto Thomas Blenkiron my Grandson son of my son Joseph Blenkiron my Silver Watch, and Christopher Metcalfe, Eldest son of my daughter Jane Metcalfe and Thomas Blenkiron eldest son of my son Thos Blenkiron to be paid each one pound 12 months after my decease. In Witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set and subscribe my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
