This is the last Will and Testament of me John Raw of Jenkins in the Township of Melbecks, Parish of Grinton and North Riding of the County of York, miner. I do hereby appoint William Harker of Low Row and James Clarkson of Kearton, the Executors of this my last Will and Testament And I give to my said Executors all my Copyhold Estate known by the name of "Jenkins" otherwise "Tiplady land", now in the occupation of William Pratt situate near Smarber and lying in the Township of Melbecks aforesaid with all the dwellinghouse stables, cowhouses and all and sundry the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all my household furniture, goods and chattels, my wearing apparel and all my money or monies which may or ought to have belonged to me with all my property whatsoever. In trust Nevertheless, for the following purposes that is to say, as soon after my decease as pofsible, they shall sell my said copyhold estate, my household furniture, and all property belonging to me for the best price obtainable, and after paying all my just and lawful debts my funeral expenses and the proving of this my last Will and testament, they shall disose of the residue as follows. To each of my Executors I give the sum of twenty shillings as a full acknowledgement for their time, trouble and expense in winding up and settling my affairs and I desire them to pay the remainder to my own nephews and nieces who may then be alive, share and share alike and should my nephew James Harker die prior to the division of said money then my Executors shall pay his share to his children, share and share alike, And this I hereby declare to be my last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, in the presence of the following Witnesses this fourteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and fifty three.
