I declare this to be the last Will and Testament of me James Thompson of Fremington Mill in the Parish of Grinton in the County of York made this twenty third day of January one thousand eight hundred and forty nine in manner following that is to say at my decease I give to my Grandsons Thomas Thompson son of Thomas Thompson, James Thompson son of James Thompson, James Wilson son of Esther Wilson and James Peacock son of Elizabeth Peacock and their heirs for ever all that House and garden situate at Lodge Green in the parish of Melbecks also a field called ....... Bank also a field called Low Mou? Bank comprising one acre one rood and nine perches also ......Cattle gate in Rowleth Pasture the .............. the above named property to be received by my Trustees and Interest for sixty pounds borrowed on the property is paid the remaining rent to be given to my wife Elizabeth Thompson half yearly during her natural life and at her death the same remaining rent to be divided among my sons James Thompson Robert Thompson and William Thompson till the youngest of the above named Grandsons comes at the age of twenty one years then the above named rent to be given to the above named grandsons share and share alike the Trustees of this my Will may empower any of the above named Property to any of the other share holders but to no other person and I do hereby appoint John Craig of Reeth and James Calvert of Fremington the Trustees of this my Will and direct and order the said Trustees to take all the rent due at May Day for the expenses of proving this my Will and other expenses and also order and direct the said Trustees to dispose of the whole of my personal property as they think proper for my funeral expenses and just debts, the surplus to be divided between my sons Robert Thompson and William Thompson share and share alike and hereby revoking all other wills declare this to be my last will witness my hand this twenty third day of January one thousand eight hundred and forty nine.
