This is the last Will and Testament of me James Fawcett of Sandford in the Parish of Warcop in the County of Westmorland Yeoman. I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Nanny all my Household furniture Plate Linen China Dairy utensils and also all my household effects whatsoever for her absolute use. I give and devise unto my son Edmund Alderson Fawcett All my real estate situate in the Township of Sandford aforesaid also all my real estate situate at or called Cat Hall or New Inn situated in Swaledale in the Parish of Grinton in the North Riding of the County of York and now in the occupation of my son in law Mr Thomas Alderson James Brown William Metcalfe and Thomas Battey. to hold all my said real Estate unto my said son Edmund Alderson Fawcett his heirs and afsigns for ever according to the tenure of the same respectively And I also give devise and bequeath all the residue of my real and personal Estate unto my said son Edmund Alderson Fawcett. To hold to him his heirs and afsigns executors or administrators according to the nature thereof respectively but subject to and charged and chargeable with the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses And I hereby appoint my said son Edmund Alderson Fawcett Sole Executor of this my Will. In Witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of May One thousand eight hundred and fifty three.
