This is the last Will and Testament of me James Alderson of Barfside in the Township of Melbecks Parish of Grinton and North Riding of the County of York Farmer made this twenty first day of June One thousand eight hundred and seventy nine. I hereby give devise and bequeath to my son James Alderson his heirs or assigns Two Cottage Houses with their appurtances situated at Lodge Green in the Township of Melbecks nevertheless subject to a life residence in one of the before named cottages for my dear wife or so long as she remain my widdow wthout rent or charge I also give devise and bequeath to my Executor hereinafter named the sum of three hundred and thirty pound. Nevertheless upon trust for my dear wife the intrest to be paid to my dear wife for her support and comfort during her life, or so long as she remain my widdow. At her death or should she marrey again I then order and direct my Executor hereinafter named to dispose of the before named sum of money as follows. I give devise and bequeath my son Isaiah Smithson his heirs or assigns the sum of one hundred and ten pound. I give devise and bequeath to my son George Alderson his heirs or assigns the sum of one hundred and ten pound. I give devise and bequeath to my son John Alderson his heirs or assigns the sum of one hundred and ten pound. I give devise and bequeath to my son James Alderson to my son William Alderson and to my daughter Mary Alderson jointley there heirs or assigns the whole of my Farming Stock consisting of Horses, Cows, Sheep Husbandrey dairy Utencils, and everything else used or rent on the Farm togeather with that part of my household not required for the furnishing of a house for my dear wife which shall be selected by herself. I also give devise to my son James Alderson to my son William Alderson and my Daughter Mary Alderson the good will or use of the Farm I now rent so long as the landlord and they can agree my wife to live with them as long as both sides shall think it advisable to do so. I also hereby appoint my son James Alderson now living with me at Barfside in the Township of Melbecks my Executor of this my last will and Testament revoking all former and other Wills and declare this to be my last Will made this Twenty first day of June One thousand eight hundred and seventy nine.
