This is the last Will and Testament of me George Clarkson of Laykin in the Township of Melbecks, parish of Grinton and North Riding of the County of York, miner. I hereby appoint my son James Clarkson the Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament, and I hereby give to the said James Clarkson all that Dwellinghouse, belonging to me, situate at or near Mount Pleasant, in the Township of Melbecks aforesaid with the Garden, and all and sundry the appurtenances thereunto belonging to himself absolutely, and to his heirs for ever, I also give to the said James Clarkson all my Household furniture, wearing Apparel, with all goods, shattels and monies, and all property whatsoever belonging to me at the time of my decease for his sole use and benefit. And I require my said Executor to pay all my just and lawful debts, my funeral expenses and the proving of this my last will and Testament out of my effects.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, in the presence of the fillowing witnesses as, and for, my last Will and Testament, this twenty fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one.
